E’ STATO PRESENTATO IN ANTEPRIMA, IL 7 NOVEMBRE, A BORDO DELLA NAVE AMERIGO VESPUCCI, IL CATALOGO “150 ANNI DI CARTE INFINITE” DELL’ISTITUTO IDROGRAFICO DELLA MARINA PER I 150 ANNI DALLA SUA FONDAZIONE. Il catalogo racconta lo straordinario percorso di ricerca, esplorazione, evoluzione e restituzione orografica e cartografica dei mari e delle coste. Un viaggio che inizia nell’ottocento attraverso l’immagine reale delle carte idrografiche elaborate dei primi cartografi, godibili all’interno della pubblicazione, fino alle nuove carte realizzate con le moderne tecnologie, Un navigare atemporale di conoscenza e dialogo non solo con la visione romantica dei primi naviganti ma uno strumento di informazione scientifica sulle attività delle nuove unità idro-oceaniche, per mappare lo stato di salute degli oceani, dei mari e delle coste. Un catalogo emozionale di storia e visione tra passato e futuro che accomuna tutti gli appassionati del mare, professionisti e aspirati navigatori.
150 Years of Endless Charts
The book was presented in preview on board of the Amerigo Vespucci ship, “150 Years of endless Charts” the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, 150 years after its foundation. The book tells the extraordinary journey of research, exploration, evolution, orographic and cartographic restitution of the seas and coasts. A journey that begins with the first cartographers of the ‘800, who have developed the ancient hydrographic maps, enjoyable within the publication, up to the new maps made thanks to modern technologies, an atemporal wave of knowledge and dialogue not only with the romantic vision of the first sailors but a scientific information tool on the activities of the new hydro-ocean units, to map the health of the oceans, seas and coasts. A catalogue is a history and vision between past and future that unites all lovers of the sea.
